Kennedy Miller

V.P. Leadership & Competition

Hello! My name is Kennedy Skye Miller. I hold the position of VP of Leadership and Competition during the 2024–2025 competition year! I am a current junior at Roosevelt High School in Sioux Falls. I have personally been involved in DECA since my freshman year. I am also involved in programs such as Speech, Link Crew, Theater, Women Empowerment, and the Tribal Club at Roosevelt. I have had the privilege to be able to compete in a total of six competitions throughout my freshman and sophomore years. These competitions have given perspective on the competitive and fun-loving aspects of DECA. Facing the challenges and competitive spirit of the DECA conferences has shown to grow self-confidence, work ethic, perseverance, and strategic thinking, which will help one glide through high school, college, and later life occurrences. I have had the miracle of being introduced to a good majority of my closest mentors and peers in my chapter and at the international level! This defines how the DECA community has so much love, knowledge, and memorable experiences to share! From having the opportunity to visit the grand worlds of Universal Studios and Disneyworld in Orlando, Florida, swimming and racing your associate's down water slides at Great Wolf Lodge, Anaheim, and line dancing with fellow DECA members at DECA after dark in Austin, Texas, If I were to express one takeaway from my ongoing DECA membership, I would relay that while it may seem intimidating at first, one will untimely experience some of the most memorable events of their entire high school career with the people you love.
